You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero

Following my review of Badass Habits, I wanted to delve further into Jen Sincero’s work. I’m particularly drawn to her ability to integrate mindful meditation, visualization, and affirmations into her motivational approach, which many might initially dismiss. Sincero’s conviction that these tools have transformed her life, and can transform yours, is compelling. You Are a Badass at Making Money continues in this vein, and her style continues to resonate with me.

At this stage in my life, I’m focused on achieving financial freedom—being my own boss and pursuing projects I’m passionate about. I love building and creating, and I want to dedicate my energy to projects that benefit myself and my loved ones, rather than a large corporation. While I enjoy my current job, I aspire to retain more of the value I create. Speaking of financial freedom, if you find my reviews helpful and believe this book aligns with your goals, I would be grateful if you used my affiliate link to purchase You Are a Badass at Making Money.

That said, my pursuit of financial freedom has led me to explore numerous personal growth and finance books. This one ranks high on my list of must-reads for cultivating a healthy relationship with money. Sincero shares her own journey from a struggling freelance writer to a successful life coach, emphasizing the transformative power of shifting one’s mindset.

Sincero’s approach centers on changing your spiritual and psychological mindset, dismantling limiting beliefs about money. She presents money as energy, flowing to and from you, and emphasizes the importance of aligning your thoughts, words, and actions with the version of yourself who embraces financial abundance. She encourages readers to eliminate unconscious fears and embrace a mindset of abundance.

Sincero’s emphasis on mantras has also influenced me. She uses mantras to rewrite negative self-talk and align one’s energy with financial goals. Some of my personal mantras include:

  • “I work for money, and money works for me, and together we will create freedom.”
  • “I love money, and money loves me.”
  • “Money flows to me easily and freely.”

Other key takeaways include:

  • “Money is energy—and your vibe attracts your financial tribe.”
  • “Taking bold action, even when scared, is essential.”
  • “Gratitude and visualization are powerful tools.”

You Are a Badass at Making Moneyhas provided me with valuable tools to reshape my mindset and relationship with money. While I haven’t experienced an immediate influx of wealth, I feel more emotionally aligned with my financial goals and more willing to invest energy in long-term projects, like this blog. I now view money as a collaborative force, rather than an adversary I have to beat.
